Youth Group
Our churches boast a very active youth group which is open to all youth, middle school through high school. It's a wonderful way for the area youth to be active in Christian-oriented and community-service focused activities.
The purpose of the Juda Zion Community Church Youth Group is primarily to encourage youth of the church to serve others through a variety of activities. Helping others who are less fortunate than us is a lifelong activity, and many activities of the group are planned with this in mind. The youth group is open to students from 8th grade to senior year in high school. During the year, we do a number of activities. The activities may include a Halloween trip to a corn maze and haunted house, a food collection in November for the Green County Food Pantry and the church food pantry, ringing bells for the Salvation Army, movie days at the house of Shelly Jordan, the Easter Sonrise Breakfast, and other activities as they become available and time allows. The cost for most of the events is very minimal. We raise our money by having church and community members donate their empty aluminum cans and empty inkjet cartridges that we get cash for. We also sell wall calendars in November and we get donations when we sponsor the Easter Sonrise Breakfast. Members of the church also donate money to our group occasionally.
The group has a collection cage for recycling empty aluminum cans in the corner of the Bank of New Glarus-Juda Branch parking lot. The cage is located on Walnut Street in Juda. Funds raised from the collection not only help support the group, but money is donated to other organizations during the year. Over the years, donations have been given to the Juda School Backpack Program, the Green County Food Pantry, Fairbanks Rescue Mission, UMCOR, Disaster Relief, and the Green County Pregnancy Center.
The Youth Group is open to any and all area youth, regardless of membership. For more information on how to get involved, please contact the church office at 608-934-5398 or email at [email protected].
